Literature Text
He had a worn face, once vibrant at one time or another, his hands weak and moved slowly as weight had stripped away the speed over time. His voice, however, vibrated throughout the entire downstairs of my home. Though not always timely, he was always a welcome guest when dinner rolled around.
Then, one day, his voice ceased chiming. The weight had finally silenced his afternoon call. The Grandfather, silent for what seemed like eternity, until my own grandfather eased the weighted arms of Grandfather.
"It’s never too late to change the time," he said as Grandfather chimed once again.

Broken hearts and Bloody wrists
Ribbons in her hair and scars beneath her sleeves
Her soul is slowly dying as tormentors turn to thieves
The mask on her face doesn't cover her eyes
So she can't cover her sorrow with her lies
She's so beautiful
It's breathtaking
She's so sorrowful
It's heartbreaking
Trace your veins with this blade,
Still the fiery flames of hate
Your pleasures pain, a steel caress,
You hide your hurt, shield your distress
She's so beautiful

It's heartbreaking
When comes the time for pain to end?

Your soul gives up, your life decays
You'll find no cause to change y

I Love
i love whispers in the dark
i love the sound of her heart
i love sand through my fingers
i love a kiss, when it lingers
i love the scent of a rose
i love mud between my toes
i love the sound of my own laughter
i love thinking before, and not after
i love the warmth of sunshine
i love how she'll always be mine
i love feeling those kicks from inside
i love that i have nothing to hide
i love the color of autumn leaves
i love how i'm sometimes naive
i love the sound of your voice
i love having a reason to rejoice
i love speaking my mind
i love a serendipitous find
i love the bubbles in champagne
i love sitting quietly, in the r

Cheap and Tawdry Married Love
My mother cried when I married you.
Twisted up her brothel-keeper's mouth
and bawled-
'That girl's gone and sold herself too cheap.
...And after everything I told her!'
My aunt patted her hand
Slyly reminding her how bad the deal was,
Your poor job-prospects,
The tiny diamond on the ring
Your mother had given us
Because you couldn't afford to buy one.
I paid them no heed.
Smiling, I posed for the photos
Thankful I'd escaped.
Do you see me?
Standing there beside you
In your sharp suit and your Fagin smile.
I was innocent then,
I couldn't see the flames
But I could still burn...

Have you ever heard the song "My grandfather's clock"? We used to sing it in first school (ages 4-8) and I was always fond of it.
